BEFORE DAWN IN NEW YORK CITY
Bar doors shut at 4:30 am, sending late-nighters stumbling to the streets as sanitation trucks begin clearing the sidewalks. As dawn approaches, early morning workers start their commute, sipping coffee on their way to the office. Between this intersection lies the hour when "the city that never sleeps" is mainly quiet. Images from a series shot during the hour before sunrise in different neighborhoods in New York City. Photographed for Gothamist 2015-2019.
